Drop the attitude

User Rating: / 1

I have worked with and met a lot of bands in my life. Unfortunately, a lot of them have this attitude that their shit doesn’t stink because they are in a band. They are arrogant, rude, and think you should do things for them. Look at me, I’m in a band! Let’s get this straight right now, WHO GIVES A SHIT IF YOUR IN A BAND!

Here is “why” you need to drop the attitude.

·         There is a ton of bands out there that are better than you are.

·         You never know who could be in the crowd. A publicist, talent scout, record company,

·         Management Company, etc. These are people that no matter how good of a band you may be, they don’t want to nor need to deal with your crap. They will simply move onto another band.

·         You’re FANS! Personally, I will not by any means support a band that treats their fans like crap. Not only will you lose fans, but they will also tell their friends. Word of mouth goes a long way and is probably the best promotion you can get.

You really need to be cool to everybody. Take the time out to take pictures with your fans. Talk to them; treat them like they are your only fan. Don’t have the “Look at me” attitude.

Here is a perfect example of treating your fans with dignity and respect. The band “Back From Ashes” from Phoenix, AZ is one of my favorite bands. Not only are they a great set of musicians, they are truly humble and very nice people.

The times I have seen them play live, before and after the show they are always out talking to their fans. Look them up on Facebook; they are constantly thanking everybody for being their fans. Back From Ashes know that if it weren’t for their fans, they would be absolutely nothing.

Every time I have seen them in person, they welcome me with open arms. They thank me for supporting them just as they do with every single one of their fans. I may be in the background but I constantly hear them thanking people for coming to their show.

Back From Ashes has my support 100% and it is because of their attitude, not because they are an incredible band.

So, drop the attitude! I personally won’t deal with you or even talk to you if you have a shitty attitude. I don’t care who you are or how good your band is. If you’re a dick, go away. You WILL find that you will go further in your career if you have a good attitude.

Part of being in the band is knowing that without the people that are there to see and hear you, you're nothing!! Mad love to the fans!!
